ISHI Secretariat visit to the Pathology Laboratory and the GEVES Detection Pôle

GEVES laboratories recently had the pleasure of welcoming the secretariat of the International Seed Health Initiative (ISHI) for a visit dedicated to the challenges of the international seed sector in terms of seed health.

During the visit guided by GEVES pathologists and ISHI’s member, visitors were able to discover the advanced technologies and methods used to diagnose and detect seed-borne pathogens.

Practical demonstrations illustrated the importance of precision in detection tests, with a particular focus on pathogens of interest to the vegetable sector. In addition, discussions continued on exploring paths to improve the sensitivity and efficiency of current methods.

For more than 15 years, GEVES has actively participated in ISHI in the development of methods for assessing the sanitary quality of seeds, an essential criterion for international seed trade.

Thanks to ISHI for their visit and investment in this dynamic collaboration.
