GEVES joins PHENET, a new European R&D phenotyping project

In order to develop its phenotyping expertise as part of the agro-ecological transition and in response to climate change, GEVES is continuing to invest in and contribute to dedicated R&D projects. Among the latest projects launched, PHENET (2023-27), “Tools and methods for extended plant PHENotyping and EnviroTyping services of European Research Infrastructures” is a project coordinated by INRAE in Montpellier, aimed at providing innovative phenotyping services.
PHENET is part of the EU Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, and uses a series of case studies to demonstrate the applicability of these technological solutions. GEVES is involved in the biotic stress use case, working with Agroscope to improve previously developed phenotyping tools. This is the case for those developed as part of the FSOV Fuse’eye and H2020 Invite projects, to quantify fusarium head blight on wheat in the field, using multispectral and RGB cameras.
GEVES will also be exploring the use of the Phenoman boom to detect other viral cereal diseases.
