Meeting of CTPS Rapeseed Section – 30/07/2021

Despite the late harvest of 2021 and the impossibility of proposing the registration of rapeseed varieties in list A of the official French catalogue in July (not enough VCUS 2021 data available), the Section met on 30 July. It validated the results of the DUS studies and proposed the registration of 5 rapeseed varieties in list B of the official catalog. The Section also noted the evolution of the VCUS trial network towards more locations where irrigation is possible, in order to guarantee correct emergence, one of the key factors of success in rapeseed trials. The methods of testing TuYV (one of the viruses widely present in French rapeseed) have also been rethought, for greater efficiency of this system, which is the gateway to the list of varieties eligible for CEPP.
